Dr. Debra Traficante

Dr. Debra Traficante currently serves as Kennesaw State University’s (Atlanta, Georgia) Associate Director of Bands, conducting/directing all aspects of the KSU Marching Band and Basketball Band. Dr. Traficante also serves as the Conductor of the KSU Wind Symphony, and teaches conducting and music education courses, while also advising Music Education students. Dr. Traficante served on the brass staff for the Boston Crusaders from 2014 - 2018. She formerly served as Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Oklahoma where she conducted the Symphony Band, taught the “Pride of Oklahoma” Marching Band, conducting lessons to graduate and undergraduate students, graduate wind literature courses, undergraduate conducting and methods courses, and oversaw music education students. She also served in a myriad of service capacities throughout the School of Music. Professor Traficante earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Florida, Master of Music degree in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Florida, and earned a Fellowship to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Conducting from the University of Oklahoma. Prior to her collegiate teaching, she served as Director of Bands for five years at New Smyrna Beach High School, Florida and Assistant Director of Bands for two years at Buchholz High School, Florida.
