OVERVIEW & TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
A major difference in the Smith Walbridge Marching Percussion Clinic over others is the emphasis on attributes other than “drumming.” Great attitudes, spirit, responsibilities, discipline, and commitment improve a drumline. Percussionists learn that although they are a separate section in the band, they are also members of the total band. All of the instructors have extensive drum corps and university experience. They are all involved with teaching high rated drumlines and are motivated to teach young students to advance to higher levels of performance techniques. The clinic is highly energized as a result of the constant progress each student makes.
